The Elmira Heights PBA is a not-for-profit organization that is made up of 9 active Elmira Heights Police officers. The PBA is funded by a solicitation drive that takes place from December thru April every year. The money that is raised is used to fund various programs in the Village of Elmira Heights.
The PBA has put on a Halloween Event in each of the past 20 years. The PBA has been a loyal sponsor to many of the Elmira Heights youth sports leagues by sponsoring teams, billboards or individuals going to summer camps. We have also sponsored youth teams in Horseheads and West Elmira in the past.
A Boys State representative has been picked and sponsored by the PBA for many years and continues today. We also are a proud supporter of the Thomas A. Edison high school and the Cohen Elementary and Middle schools. A couple of our members are part of the Lunch Buddies program at Cohen school where they get to eat lunch with a child a couple times a month.
The PBA helps sponsor the Brad Sanford run in the Heights and the Burgart/VanKuren run in Southport that is in memory of our fallen Police brothers.
Once a year, the PBA hosts a golf outing for the associate members of the organization. A Captain and Crew Golf Tournament takes place in the morning with an Outing of food and raffles after.
The Elmira Heights PBA is a long standing member of the Police Conference of New York
The Elmira Heights PBA takes special Pride in the village and all of its programs and activities and hopes to continue this service to the people for a long time to come.
